Building the future of sustainable dairy: Our Internship program at Verde Oveja
At Verde Oveja, we believe in more than just making world-class cheese—we’re passionate about education, sustainability, and sharing knowledge with the next generation of agricultural and food industry professionals.
Over the past few years, we’ve developed a hands-on internship program that gives students the opportunity to immerse themselves in the entire dairy production chain—from animal care and milking, to artisanal cheese making and direct-to-customer sales.
We’re proud to have welcomed talented and motivated students from a range of institutions, both local and international, including:
-
Yachay Tech University
-
Universidad Técnica del Norte (UTN)
-
Unidad Educativa Sarance (Sarance High School)
-
Zamorano University (Honduras)
-
Tufts University (USA)
Each student brings a unique perspective, and we tailor the internship experience to provide meaningful opportunities to learn and contribute. Whether it’s supporting new cheese developments, learning about sustainable grazing practices, participating in market events, or exploring innovations in dairy hygiene and quality, interns become an integral part of the Verde Oveja team.
Our goal is simple: to create a space where learning goes both ways. We share what we’ve learned through years of experience, and in return, we gain fresh ideas, new energy, and strong connections with future leaders in the food and agriculture sectors.
We’re grateful to each student who has chosen to spend time with us, and we look forward to continuing this exchange of knowledge and passion.
Our internship program also serves as a bridge between education and rural development. By hosting students in our community, often with local families, we foster deeper cultural exchange and mutual understanding. Interns not only gain technical and business knowledge—they also experience firsthand the values of collaboration, resilience, and respect for the land that define everything we do at Verde Oveja.
